| Events - 5th Annual Bike Run and Walk to Emmaus
We have confirmed that our Annual Bike Ride and Walk will take place on Saturday, July 30th, . PLEASE NOTE: In case of inclement weather on that day we will still have our event at the Emmaus Cafe which will include supper, entertainment and prize draws but our actual bike ride and walk will be moved ahead to Sunday, July 31st at 2:00pm. Bike run will leave from the Anglican church in South River acrooss from the Ultramar. EARLY REGISTRATION will be on Friday, July 29th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm FINAL REGISTRATION will be on Saturday, July 30th from 8:00am - 10:00am (bikers) 1:00pm (walkers) FREE coffee, tea and toast will be available during registration. Something NEW for this year will be a "50/50 Poker Run" with cards being drawn at each of our 5 stops, highest hand takes the prize! Our "ride" will leave the Cafe at 10:00am and will take the following route: Leave from South River at 10:00am, first stop will be a rest stop in Victoria at Clarkes Supply Ltd, next we will stop for refreshments/lunch (complimentary) at Gas Land in Old Perlican, stop 3 will be a rest stop at Hindy's Gas Bar in Winterton and then on across Hrt's Content Barrens to Tim Hortons in Carbonear before proceeding back to South River. Our "walk" participants will leave at approx 1:00pm and follow the main road in through Makinsons. Complimentary muffins and coffee or soft drinks will be available for walkers as well. Bottled water will be made available for ALL participants in the ride and walk! ALL ride and walk participants should arrive back at the Emmaus Cafe at approx 3:30pm where we will have our prize draws, entertainment and a buffet-style supper. Registration will be same as last year, $25 per person which will include supper, entertainment and a ticket on our prize draws, plus complimentary refreshments at Gas Land in Old Perlican, muffins, flips, coffee or soft drink, and bottled water. Prizes will be awarded for various pledge levels: $50 - Free registration, 2 tickets for prizes There will be many great prizes including a main door prize of a "Weekend Getaway for 2 at The Wilds in Salmonier complete with golf passes" We are pleased to say that KIXX 103.9 FM as joined us as a corporate sponsor this year so please listen for updates.
